I read that ford had or has the patent on the quick clear front screen is this true or not.I think you can get heated screens in other makes but as optional extra and not as good as fords quick clear. :huh:

    I believe Ford used to own the patent, but that changed and now other manufacturers can have their own take on it.

    There patent ran out last year and it was too costly to get another. Other manufactures that have there own are that ford had a share in ie JAG etc was allowed to have access to it if they owned ford owned a share in them. Obviously it would cost there new companys a lot to put in there cars as it does not cost ford much now they had it for a long long time
