Rust On Mk7 Rear Wiper

Featured Replies

Those of you with 58/09/59 plated cars should take a peek at your rear wiper spindle. Just above the rubber cover that goes into the tailgate. My 58 Zetec started rusting up. I began looking at others and began finding I wasnt alone. It may be due to the thickness of the paint on that part some seemed more watery like mine was. Ford wouldnt treat it on warranty claiming it was just one of those areas prone to it. It is in direct firing line from spray at the back and with all the salt laid down this winter I'd check yours. My dealer offered to treat it for free but I did it myself. Cleaned it off then treated with black hammerite. Current motor paint a lot thicker in that area. But I still smeer a bit of grease on now and then.
