New Car Questions

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Speed read the manual tonight and couldn't find the answer to this question. I have a 09 plate zetec s, twice recently when i have been getting in the car and start driving the red light (alarm light)in the centre of the dash is flashing at me in what appears to be a specific sequence. The only way i can get it to stop is to pull over turn off the car and re start it????????? any ideas. I am pretty sure the alarm has not been going off whilst i have been away.

Also thinking about it when I lock the car it clicks and locks but doesnt flash the indicators. But if i press the locking button again then the indicators flash and it sounds like it locks again. Any ideas what is happening?

Thx in advance

Not sure what’s happening as you dive off, don’t suppose it’s because you haven’t fastened your seat belt in time before the alarm goes off?

Second problem is normal, press once the car locks (no lights) press twice and the deadlock clunks and the indicators flash.

You'd know if your alarm has been triggered, you get a message on the screen saying when it was triggered when you turn on the ignition the first time after. I know this because I double locked myself in my car, went to get out a few mins later *BEEP BEEP BEEP*

Though the flashing alarm light isn't right, not sure what could be causing that, should probably get it seen to, I bet it's distracting!

As mentioned in above post, Single lock (single press) locks the outside door handles and you hear just a clunk, Double lock (double press) locks outside and inside door handles, another clunk and indicators flash.
