If a car is described as 2011MY (model year) does it mean that it was built in 2011 ?

Ive just looked at the car we're buying - 2011MY - and see the build date is 9th September 2010.

Im sure the guy confirmed it as 2011.25 when I asked.

    I believe the factory year runs from September-July (and shuts down in August)

    They start making 2011 spec in September 2010 which is correct.

    iNath yes that is correct as i discussed in another thread with you 2011 begins beginning of september when the german factory re opens, this year they changed the sony stereo and made more optional extras standard.
