Xenon Headlights For 2010 Fiesta Zetec Question.

Featured Replies

hi this is my first post on the forum other then the introduction, i dont get my car for another 13 days but im looking for some blue xenon headlights and wanted some avice. i currently have some in my suzuki swift and to me they just look like normal lights and cant see any blue in them at all, im looking for ones that look really blue like the ones you see on the roads, and also i was wondering if you can get them for your front fog lights, would anyone be so kind to give me some advice on where to buy and some good quality ones. thanks.

What ever you do, dont buy the cheap ones off eBay. They do look blue but for visibility are worse than standard bulbs. The decent bulbs give off a pure white light. You will only notice a hint of blue at a distance from the tinting designed to avoid burning the lenses out.

Philips Blue Vision are good, but my favourite for performance were the Osram Nightbreakers (no blue on these just great vision).

The 100 watt bulbs are not legal on the road, so avoid those.

You'll want 6000k+ colour temperature in Xenons (HIDs) to get the blue tint. They're not road legal to be fitted aftermarket. But many people still use them. You'll want H7 size for dipped beam, H1 for full beam/fog lights.

They usually come in 35w or 55w, 55w has more light output, but often causes more glare to oncoming traffic.

As the Zetec comes with projector lens' over the dipped beam it is a bit safer to use HIDs than it would be in a normal reflector housing.

Make sure you get a good brand form a website like http://www.powerbulbs.com or http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk

There's numerous threads here and all over the web debating they're legality and safety if you wanted a read.
