Autogear Box Problem No Lcd Display???

Hi can some one shed some light on this problem ..

2003 fiesta lx with the duratech gear box ,

had problems with it when i first got it .

display not showing anything(IE no N ,R, 1st etc etc

thought id traced it down to a faulty relay in the main fuse board .

swapped the relay around for another one thats exactly the same and hey presto managed to start the car .

left it a few minutes tried it again ,fantastic problem solved or so i thought..

took it for a spin down the street and the gear box light came on yellow symble with a line through it and the lcd display showing nothing again.

switched the car off waited a an hour or so went back and have the same problem

if i switch the ignation on the lcd display comes up then just goes off and i get nothing on the display apart from if i move the gear stick to the left it shows up auto at the bottom off the lcd.

can anyone shed any light ????
