'drivers Door Open' Warning Message

I have been having issues with this warning message for a while now. At first it would just flash up occasionally and then disappear straight away when I opened the drivers side window, but now it seems to already be on when I start the car up in the morning. When I came back to the car in the evening the message had disappeared. The door is closed properly when this message appears!

Its a pain as when I try to lock my door it automatically opens again, therefore leaving my car open!!!! I can lock it with the key but only the drivers side locks all the other doors are left open.

Is there a sensor that could be at fault, if so where is it or a loose connection somewhere??

Can I disable the door sensor by taking out a fuse so that I can lock it?
