Focus 1.6 Zetec Cooling Fan Not Working

Featured Replies

Hi all, just done a block leak test and the dye changed from blue to green very slowly indicating 'coimbustion gases' in the water jacket.

Have removed and tested fan relay- good, fitted to a donor car and the fan works.

Supplys to fuse board relay location good (x2)

Relay removed and simply bridge the batt feed to op. terminal (bypassing relay) fan works.

Any one know the location of any water temp transmitters on the engine ?

With my tool plugged in, the coolant temp easily rises to 112' an no sign of fan operation. Views and opinions greatfully appreaited.

Cheers andy

Update:

Located cooling sensor transmitter between plugs 2 & 3, on order, collecting tomorrow £11.

Now i read some where that you have to code it to the ECU ? i would have though it would be a simple replace plug an play etc.

There are no codes stored in the ECU memory.

Any comments appreaited, cheers andy
