Cruise Control Ford Fiesta

Featured Replies

Hi all I'm new to the Ford Owners Club and was wondering if anyone could help me out.

I have a 2009 Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCI Zetec (5 door) and was wondering if it is possible to fit cruise control, if anyone knows if this is possible, or where and how much I could get it from could you please let me know. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum,

The kit could cost up to a grand to buy and fit to your car if adding to a current car some insurance companys may ask for proof that is been fitted professionaly so ford garage would be your best option and considering todays re-sale value would me cheaper to trade your car for a model that has it already fitted, as you will gain nothing on the re-sale value if you do fit it mate,

personally i wouldn't bother with it, though I have it on my focus and it makes you realise what a disaster

other drivers are for example, I'm on the M1 straightest road in Ireland going

from Newry to Dublin 1hour 15minute journey so put on cruise control at 120km

which is the speed limit all is great until you get people in the fast lane

doing 119kmph or 115kmph and you have to brake before you go through them, then

sit behind them wait till the pull over to the inner lane, continue on again

set the cruise control for 120kmph until you meet another one in the fast lane

, deactivate it again and pass or worse a car in slow lane doing 118kmph and

your coming up the fast lane doing 120kmph takes around 20minutes to overtake

him it's all too much hassle sure youmay suggest setting the cruise control at 115kmph but then your adding time toyour journey and aggravating other as your going too slow unless the cruisecontrol has sensors to slow down when approaching the car in front, there's nopoint in fitting in my opinion that's my experience with it and I've used itfor the past 6 months if I could use one word to describe cruise control onpublic roads id say DISASTER
