Noticable Whine While At Speed

Featured Replies

Hey all, ive noticed over the last month a really annoying whine coming from the car while im driving my Zetec.

I can hear it from say 25mph to 40mph after accelerating, then it just stops between 40-50mph then its back again between 50mph and upwards.

I can hear it generally between gears 3-5 again after getting the car going. And even if i'm coasting at speed as well (eg drop the clutch). As well as if i drop in to neutral and coast.

The whine does quieten a lil when im slowing down.

I'm not sure if its the breaks as i've just renewed the front disc and pads.

Any one have any idea what it could be ? Thanks

Sounds like a wheel bearing to me. I had one go on my last Fiesta with the same symptoms.
