Timing Belt Again.

Featured Replies

Timing belt change due, there's quite a price difference between OEM and say Dayco and others. Are Dayco okay?

Thanks...looking to do the work myself and it says in the Haynes that I need a special puller for cam sprocket, is this strictly necessary or can I manage to refit the belt without having to loosen that?

Thanks in advance.

You will need to remove the bottom pulley to be able to remove the belt. I used to do it with a drift (large screwdriver or block of wood) and a hammer. Takes longer than with a pulley puller and can get frustrating as it isnt removed square to the crank shaft as the pullers pull the pulley evenly.
