Ford Ka Passenger Door Won't Unlock

Featured Replies

Hi,

Recently brought a Ford Ka W Reg for my first car.

It has electric windows but no central locking.

I've had the car for about 2 months and the passenger door unlocked fine, with both the key and from inside using the handle.

However the other day, I tried to open it and it just wouldn't open from the outside and the inside. I've tried WD40 and it still isn't working. Looking at other forum posts it recommends taking off the door cover from inside to have a better look, but it won't come away from the electric window buttons near the handle.

As you can probably tell I don't know much about cars, so if anyone knows how to help I'll be really grateful.

Thanks.

Check along the bottom of the handle as there are normally a couple of screws holding that on, which also hold the door card on.

Sounds like either a worn key or a worn barrel

sounds like the link rod has come uncliped, if your anywhere near Portsmouth I'll sort it for you.
