Ford Sierra Xr4X4 Question

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am new to this forum, and am i need of some advise:

I have bought a 1986 ford sierra for a project but have not been able to find any information on the transmission/transfer case. what i want to know is IS THERE ANY WAY THAT THE 4X4 CAN BE DISENGAGED TO 2WD, BY A BUTTON OR GEARSTICK, OR SOMETHING??? I am not bothered by modifying anything.

Many thanks for any help provided - NZ

the short answer is no,the only way to get two wheel drive is with a different gearbox which would do away with the 4wd all togeather

As above

The sierra XR4x4 is permanant 4 wheel drive

The Sierra XR4i is 2 wheel drive only (Rear)
