Ford Focus Mk2 Headlight Question

Featured Replies

Im looking at buying some DRL headlights for my MK2 Focus, something like these: My link

Does anybody know how easy something like this would be to fit at home? I don't really want to go paying for someone else to unscrew a few bolts. Looking in the bonnet, it looks like a simple case of unscrewing the old ones but I was wondering if it's really that simple? Is there anything else holding the headlight unit in place like my 57 Polo which had a large panel over the top of the headlight unit?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

It wont be that easy. the problem is that the lights are wired in such a way that the lights will only come on when switched on. So even if you fit a set of headlights with DRL's, you still need to wire in a new circuit / button for the DRL's to run on isolated, and wire it insuch a way that when headlights go on, DRL's go off.

When the lights are switched off on the dash, there is no current going to the lamp units, and thus no power to illumite the LED's.

Thats my understanding, and I am happy to be proven wrong!
