Help! Focus Tdci 1.8 Making Strange Noises!

Featured Replies

My Focus (70,000 miles) starting making an air rushing sound on acceleration the other day. No noticeable loss of power but the sound can be heard through the air vents on the top of the dash (when driving) but also obvious from outside the car. We have had the exhaust checked and there seems to be no issues with that. It is only on acceleration and starts at a minimum of 1500 rpm, maybe a bit higher. Can anyone suggest anything at all?? Even the garage is stumped and it looks like paying £s of labour for their investigations! I've never had any other issues with it.......

it could be a split intercooler hose which is attached to the egr valve.

Thanks!! Great big split in the hose! I've taped it with gaffer tape for now until I can get it back in the garage! Hope this is OK??!!
