Hi, my focus 1.6 auto brought up trans misfunction on lcd display on dash, the gearshift selector lights flashed, I carried on as the car drove fine and the message went out. Next day car went into reverse with a bit of a clonk and later that day the same message appeared, this time although it drove fine the engine light stayed on. My local garage scanned the car and reported gearbox side held no fault codes but the engine side reported a faulty speed sensor. I am having this replaced but am unconvinced this will cure anything other than the engine light.

Any thoughts appreciated.
