I have had my new Fiesta 1.4i Zetec Climate mk 6-1/2 for about 10 days (new car but old stock got a good deal) and as i am no mechanic and have no wish to be, I just wondered if any of you guys out there can tell me if : does this car have a cambelt or is it like my ex Mondeo have a chain (I think)

and is there any benifit in Putting in Slick 50 oil treatment or could that do any damage?

It should be Cambelt. If memory serves me right, only Duratec engines have chains.

Just curious as I was in my local dealer on Friday looking at buying a brand new black Sportka as a Xmas present for Janet (my other half) as I know she's always wanted one. Anyway, whilst I was finalising the deal and waiting for him to produce the necessary documentation I had a look round the showroom and then, gasp, our eyes met and I fell head over heels in love with my new sexy babe!!

She stood in the corner looking at me and she was dressed to kill---yes you've guessed--the new Fiesta complete with full body kit!!

Of course I couldn't take my eyes off her and naturally the dealer noticed and pounced catching me when I was most vulnerable!!

No surprise then if I tell you that I am now awaiting delivery of my very own sexy babe--a 1.6 titanium complete with x pack, bluetooth, uprated alloys, full body kit etc resplendant in sensational hot hot magenta!!!

Can't wait to take her out to play!!!!!!

Pictures will follow when I finally get my paws on her--also looking forward to putting Janet's black beauty through her paces too but I guess I'll have to let her have first play---it will be her car after all!!

Pictures of that will follow shortly too--acknowledged delivery of both cars expected to be late December / early Jan hopefully. B)

Yes mine is the old shape,but as I said in my intro got a good deal its a NEW car but old stock its a 1.4i Zetec Climate 5 door, in Panther Black with a red interior uprated 16" 7 spoke sport alloys ,black privacy glass,auto wipers,auto headlamps,power fold mirrors,remote control audio,for £7225.00 ,well I think I got a good deal anyway must be down to fluttering my eyelashes,and yes I love the New one too but just a little out of my price range,Maybe next time

Agreed, you did very well there--to be fair I think they are offering exceptional deals on the old shape and just over 7k is fantastic value--a no brainer really I guess--you have to make the most of any assets you have to negotiate prices don't you?

I certainly do but not when the other half's around--she just gets the huff and walks away--doesn't do your credibility much good!

That's why I get to do stuff like that I suppose---oh well, we all have our cross to bear don't we?

I have no problem with a bit of haggeling after all in these days of credit crunch I can take my business anywhere and if the salesman didnt want my custom at the price I wanted to pay someone else will, after all he has end of month targets to meet,and thats the best time to go and buy, and Ime a strong willed female (dont take prisoners, wink) even got the guy to put a bunch of flowers on the seat when I picked it up,how cools that ! :D

You're right to try to get the best deal possible.

As you say these people have targets to meet and at this time especially they are looking for sales.

I too have ensured that when Janet collects her new Sportka next week there will be a large bunch of flowers with the car--after all the cost for them is negligable and it'll be a nice surprise for her too. (Therefore less grief for me later!!!)

Still not sure how long I'll have to wait before she'll let me have a go in it though! B)
