xr2i overheating

Featured Replies

hey

ive got a xr2i and its been fine until recently. the cars temp gauge needle sits near the top of the gauge (its in the norm bit tho) and the fans kick in obviously, it'll cool down for a bit, then the needle will move up again and the fans kick in. The heaters all work and water is being pumped through the engine as you can feel through hoses etc. The hoses dont get too hot around the radiator, they get hot but not like overheating hot. Am i worrying over nothing, i mean it doesnt appear like anything wrong, but i dunno. Could it be the thermostat? or the sensor for the temp gauge?? any ideas people....

thanks

could be the thermostat, cheap to replace :)

Have you had a heater control valve changed recently? There was a bad batch from ford which caused overheating?

have a feel of your bottom hose coming off rad if this is cold and top hose heats up your radiators probably blocked.
