hi guys, hope someone has come across this before.

ever since i had the steering rack replaced my L reg escort wont start sometimes. very intermittent. when you turn the key you cant here the fuel pump noise and it just turns over. it does have an immobiliser but not sure how to disarm it as we never fitted it and the guy who we bought it off wont speak to us. hasnt even posted in the v5 document. sore subject, we bought the car for 400 and it sold on ebay for 2000!! he forgot to end auction. anyway!!!!!

iv tried everything. shut all doors and sun roof to see it they have a sensor, taken the radio front off, held down the brake/clutch etc, locked it from the inside/outside.....nothing seems to work. wait about 10-40 mins and turn the key and the noise is back and it starts. are they factory fitted immobilisers or ones you do yourself? we have changed the battery aswel, £90 so it wasnt a cheap reconditioned one.

any idea's what it can be? thanks everyone x
