Hi there just wondering if anyone could give any tips how to solve this problem myself if it is possible if not how much roughly is it going to set me back at a garage to get it done! My problem is that my car ( a 1.4 fiesta zetec mk6) seems to be leaking gear box oil from the front of the gear box ( i presume this is the box at the front to the right if you was looking at it) would it just be a seal that has gone or am i looking at something a whole lot more serious fix??

Any help would appreciated!! James!

I had a leak in my focus today, thought it was comming from the gearbox, turned out it was a coolant leak, mine never overheated either so I didnt realise untill the coolant level was below the minimum marker. Check if it's coolant first!

Isnt coolant the level is ok on that, the leak is definitely coming from the front of the gear box, i have heard about the drive shaft seals can leak but they all seem dry to me so, it leads to me to think it could be the o ring around the nut where you would re-fill the gear oil but im not sure how this would leak?!
