The missus's Ford Ka is due its first service (12 Months) and was wondering if anyone knew if it was part of the conditions of having a vehicle on options that the service is done at a Ford Dealer? I cant seem to see anything anywhere but dont want to risk it.

Local dealer has offered to service for £129 which seems a lot for which doesnt seem to be anymore than a check and a oil change.

thanks for reading

£129 is pretty good for any service. It will get new filters, engine management updates and everything will be tightened up as things work loose in the first 12 months.

You can get it done elswhere, but they must use Ford approved parts and follow the correct service requirements for that particular service, otherwise the warrenty may be void.

The other thing is, if you keep the car and want to sell it at a later date, do you want a loacal garage on the service history? Also when your options up or if you want to exchange for another car, they may reduce the value as its not been main dealer serviced.
