Ford Courier Running Problems

Featured Replies

Hello there just purchased a 52 plate courier 1.8 td endurance engine when goin past half throttle and into turbo the van pulsates as if you were hitting a limiter happens through all gears is there a limit I can alter on this or is it more terminal ? Thanks for any advice

I don't know if you've looked into it. But I would check the air filter. Remember when hitting the turbo the engine needs to breath more because of the air being compressed. If your air filter is dirty or clogged up then the engine will be choking trying to consume the air it requires.

If that's not the issue then I would possibly think of injectors, although I'm not that experienced on diesel engines. The only experience I have personally is changing the timing belts and water pump on a 1996 1800 diesel Escort. Really nice simple mechanics on that one!

Change the diesel filter
