Looking to get Mondeo to use as a Taxi/mini cab. i have about 1k to get me started.

Was looking at a 2001 1.8 petrol, with 107k mileage (30k was done this year) the oil light was flickering on idie. When i checked the dipstick there was no oil. Car ran fine, No other issues Gearbox fine etc however needs 2 tyres.

Whats your thoughts? walk away / the oil pressure would be ok at revs there for be ok?

The guy wants £850 is this a reasonable price or should shop around?

also is there a timming belt or chain on the Petrol engines?

    The fact it has no oil in it concerns me.

    Does it have any service history with the car?

    No service history. As you say no oil (or at least off the dipstick) concerns me too.

    With the engine at idle oil light flickers( every few sec) so low oil pressure but under load does not come on.

    What I am trying to understand is is it lightly that there would of been low oil pressure when engine under load.

    Are they that common that I should wait for another to come up?
