Just Bought A 56 Plate Ford Fiesta

Featured Replies

Hi, im new to the forum today having just bought my first ford today. Very happy with the car except 1 thing. When I turned the radio on it was very loud and the volume control knob does not work? Has any one else had this experience or knowledge of this and how it can be fixed? Its a 56 plate if that helps thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum mate,

when you get a moment join photobucket and upload some pics of your motor then link them to the thread,

the stereo was most likely broken by a child rapidly turning it up and down,

my daughter's broke my Philips stereo in the kitchen the same way by doing this over and over,

luckily it has a remote unlike car stereos (well most main stream ones anyway),

If I was you mate and i wish I were you as I love this shape of fiesta more than the Mk7 id take out the stereo cut the little bars out that divide the sections and fit

this Sony unit straight in there Click Here

also check out DMB Graphics for some gel overlays on the Ford badges. Click Here

Any modifications planned?

That Sony unit looks like a really nice upgrade, like Lenny said it's easier just to fit a new unit as the chances are it has been damaged by overzealous control of the volume knob (I still have trouble saying that without laughing :D).

Hope you get it sorted :) I'd like to see pictures too! It should be a forced thing, whenever someone joins they have to show off their new motor :D Only playing.

cheers guys i might go get that today it looks good. Its the model with the kit on and 17" wheels but only a 1.25 engine. With the cost of petrol these days though that's fine by me haha. Yes ill upload a picture today thanks again.

Just a quick question about the cd player you mentioned, how would it fit? As the 1 that is fitted now is split into 3 small sections if you know what i mean? The 1 you reccommended is 1 large unit so would the trim plastic around the current 1 have to be cut?Or would I have to buy that aswell?

Hi mate,

Just get a stanley blade and slice straight down on the egde of the 3 bars, this will create a double din slot for the sony unit,

other members have done this and fitted the sony with no problems,

you can also measure the size of the square and contact the seller of the sony for the measurements of the sony,

they will be the same once the bars are gone.B)

I love your car, rather yours to a MK7 alot more tidy and looks like it sticks to the road,

would look nice with the forum decal on the rear side windows, ive transferd the images to the forum for easier viewing,

Nice car.I used to have a mk 6.Yeah just cut the bars out and the sony radio will go right in no probs.

If you become an FOC supporter you will be posted a Decal as part of the subscription

although when purchasing your subscription contact Steve and ask him to kindly post you two decals

and they will arrive by post within a week.

there are lots of advantages to being a full FOC supporter a list of these can be found in the link under the purchase button Click Here

And for 10% discount on your membership use the Discount Code: LUVFOC

Missed this one when you posted pictures, agreed really nice car. I love these MK6s, yours looks really clean & looked after. Good choice on the engine, fuel economy is so important now especially with the price of fuel. I saw a bloke filling up a Shelby GT at Morrisons the other day and he was giving it a good drink, in the time he was there putting fuel in me and two other people had already filled their cars up. I think he was on around £80 when I drove off - he will probably be doing it again tomorrow :D
