hi again, new problem with the festa, but hard to explain.

if i go to put the car into 1st gear, the gearstick will go into gear, BUT if i push it over to the left a bit harder (when its in neutral), it will move the whole gearstick over to the left. i can still select all of the gears without crunching but it is over to the left. knock it back over to the right and it'll behave as normal. it's quite drivable but quite odd. any suggestions would be great.

    check if all the linkage and bolts are tight under the gear gater.

    just realised what it was...

    when the gearbox was dropped to get the clutch done one of the clips around the selector rod was loosened and not tightened!!

    so the whole thing is rotating where the clip should be.

    quick tighten of a bolt n everything's sweet!
