Garage Says Its Rare??? 06 Tdi Focus

Featured Replies

The garage I bought my 06 plate TDI Focus from ranfg me to ask if i would consider selling it to them as it is rare.

I had not thought of it as a rare car...

Does this sound plausible and if so how much do you think would be a decent amount to accept, as cash or part exchange?

Thanks

If it is a 1.6 with no DPF i would agree with ford as people are holding tight the market is full of 1.8 and 2.0 though so if your focus is one of those id take the dash out and look for the wad of cash or diamonds thats hidden inside causing ford to contact you and request it back

The car in itself isnt rare, as Lenny said, if its not got a DPF maybe, but I cant see why they would seem to believe that an 06 plate 16 TDCI is "rare"?

I agree with Lenny? maybe they had a drug dealer who smuggled in diamonds or cash into the office, and they just had him arrested? maybe he gave details of all the cars that he has stashed his bounty in, and thats why they are calling you?

it is a 1.6, not sure if it has dpf or not!!

maybe i should borrow a sniffer dog and see what it finds

Sounds a plan! if it has no DPF, then it may well be "rare" (or illegal, if it was equipped, was removed blah blah) but if you dont have one, and your considering trading it, it may be made worthwhile for you... but I cant see why it would be rare otherwise?

Stick your chassis number into ford etis and see if it brings up anything in the spec of the car.

Though it could well be a ruse to get you to trade in your car as they may have a customer with a specific spec list, which your car matches. This had been known before!

A very true point!
