Central Locking

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I seemed to have developed a problem with my 2008 Focus Zetec's central locking. When I lock the car it makes a terrible mechanical crunching noise. Also I am unable to open the passenger door from the outside. Any ideas? I am out of warranty so don't fancy taking it back to ford.

Cheers Steve.

I had a very similar problem from my front passenger door, but only when 'double' locking it with the deadbolts. Luckily mine was under warranty. They said they replaced a latch. I didn't have the problem of not being able to open the door though. I'd run it in and get a quote tbh. :)

I would take the door card off and the inner panel and take a look to see whats broken or perhaps jammed , Ford will charge you at least an hours labour + parts
