Help 2002 Mondeo Driver Door Wont Lock

Today at 12pm i became the owner of a 2002 TDCi Ghia mondeo was pretty pleased until 10pm this evening my first problem arrives. The drivers door will not lock using the central locking , but will lock with the key. The little button to lock the door from the inside above the handle , will not push in on the drivers door but will on all the others.

Can anyone help, i really hoped this would be a car i could drive with minimal problems which is why i purchased on that had appeared to have been looked after.
