Gregorypeck Posted December 15, 2011 Share Posted December 15, 2011 alrite folks :D Im thinking of putting a turbo on my focus, its a 1.4 zetec 2000 (w) i cant find any that are specifically for a 1.4, so i was wondering if there are any turbos that would fit it IE; Rs/St or a different manufacturer now i know in the long run it would be more cost effective to buy a larger engine model but i really love this car and i dont want to change the engine any info you could give me would be much appreciated :) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But it is still your choice. Maybe on the next days, there will be other members that can answer your question and suggest a better idea. Anyway, have you heard about the new cars from Ford. I am looking for a thread about this here, but it seems that there's nothing in here discussing about it. Then I'll just tell you. I'm browsing the net when I came across this site and be able to read the latest update from Ford. Ford is going to release 2 eco-friendly cars next year, The C-Max series and the Focus Electric which are part of Ford's mission to become a significant participant in the green portion of automobiles. Ford is out to cut back the Nissan Motors Leaf and Toyota Prius to second place among green cars. These cars might be extremely productive. jeebowhite Posted December 16, 2011 Share Posted December 16, 2011 gregorypeck, You have to be careful, as your car has already had a hard 10 years of labour (no reflection on your driving, just the workload it will have done!) so you are looking to now turbocharge a car that has done a fair amount of work, so you could end up causing a few issues. Not to say its definite but its something to look out for! I would say, if your looking for a turbo, look into scrappyards, look for accident writeoff's (TDCI's / ST / RS) you can buy a second hand unit there (of course not as good as brand new)but it will give you something to go on, a cheaper part / parts so you can run through the install on your car. A second hand part may last 5 minutes, but it may last years! uts realy worth weighing up cost against what you want. I really don't know what to tell you about it but I would suggest that if you really want to buy, you should go to the manufacturer you trust more, because you already know them, the quality of the products. As a genuine topic of interest, you can always start a new thread. just being your first post, and sort of piggy backing off an irrelevant topic, can give a wrong impression to some members. They will have experience of people asking similar questions like you... and most of the guys there are petrol heads too! and will want to help.
