Focus Clutch Master Cylinder Replacement Good Price Or Not

Featured Replies

Well on the way to work yesterday the control rod on the master cylinder snapped, limped in, got recovered home by the AA my mechanic fitted one today £134 all in any good or ripped off looking tonight online the cylinder itself seems to vary quite a bit from £30 to £85

A £134 for any repair is good. Even Indy garages are charging £80 plus VAT per hour on top of the parts. I think I would be pretty pleased if a problem that caused major driving difficulties was fixed for that amount.

When i done mine a couple of years ago i paid £50 for a genuine master cylinder. Took about an hour to fit. So i'd say £120 - £140 fitted at a garage now isn't unreasonable. My local indy charges £40 or £45 an hour i think.
