hi i have a problem with my 2003 mk 3 mondeo 1.8 zetec it smokes a lot when you rev it quite hard when stationary or when you drive it if you drive it in fourth gear at about 4000 rpm then it will smoke big time you can,t see anything behind you but as soon as you change gear level out your speed it all clears and runs fine this is the only time this happens drive it steady no smoke at all but does not seem to use much oil very annoying problem if anyone has same thing would be great to know what the solution is

What colour is the smoke?

Is there any creamy beige /white stuff in the oil filler cap or brown stuff in the coolant tank?

i was thinking egr and inlet, but its a petrol isnt it?

not sure if they ever have egr valves let alone if it would have the same effect lol
