Knocking Sound Mondeo Tdci

Featured Replies

Hello

Any help appreciated

I have a 2005 Mondeo TDCI 130 with 99k on the clock, bought in Dec 2011 wit 97k.

All was good until yesterday, slowed for a traffic light, clutch in, stopped, sounded and felt like something "engaged" and a knocking started, I could hear over the radio and feel through my left foot. Put in neutral, clutch out and noise stopped. Clutch back in noise started again. This is now always the case but only when the car is stationary, not when coasting with clutch in.

No noise while driving (except the usual Ford Diesel sound) and everything else seems OK.

Any idea what this could be.

Praying it's not injectors or DMF as I simply can't afford it.

Thanks

Sounds like mine mate, its the aux belt, tensoner and crank pulley. To double check open the bonnet and look down the side of the engine(driverside) does the belt seem to have a wobble to it?????
