2011 Smax 'engine Warning Light'

Featured Replies

My 2001 Smax 'engine warning light' came on yesterday and has stayed on.

Spoke to Ford garage and earliest they can look at it is weeks time!

They said it was ok to drive but I'm not conviced.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Cheers.

If the light starts flashing, then you need to stop before any damage can be caused. The light coming on normally indicates that it has noticed a problem more than once such as a misfire.

do the on board test to see what dtc's come up,then search the net for the answers.

Cheers for response.

Please excuse my naivety but woukd do you mean by 'the on board test and see what dtc's come up'.

Thanks.

the instructions should be on here somewhere,

iirc turn ignition (dont start engine)holding the OK button on the steering wheel.

then let it scroll thorough menus etc.hth.
