First Service Cost

Featured Replies

Emailed my local dealership the other day to find out the cost of my first service for a 1.4 petrol fiesta (2011)

Had a response....

£199.89!!

Almost had a heart attack I was like that's well overpriced!

Emailed them back asking if they could do anything better and they instantly came back with £135, breakdown cover included and they'll collect/redeliver the car for me on my day off

Bit of a cheek though to think if I just didnt ask I'd be charged £65 more

135 seems closer to the reality of the first service...

Just booked mine, £135 at Jennings Ford :)

What do they actually do in the first service?

My local dealer (Gates - Harlow but the car came from elsewhere) did a fixed 3 service deal for £425 for my 1.6 Diesel Econetic. Not the cheapest but means it's paid for for the next 2 services, and I figure it averages to £140 or so a service which isn't too bad.

What do they actually do in the first service?

Change filters, oil...basic stuff, nothing complicated.

My services:

1st (12500): £102.31

2nd (25000): £137.14

3rd: (37500): £292.18 (included new brake pads)

4th: (50000): £151.07

All done at Smiths Garage, Pinwall.

Seems so crazy that prices differ all over.. in London I could understand but no where else! =/

Well ford went to town on mine cost me £220 for first service the checklist was 3 sheets of a4 probably to justify the price. It was done at 9000 cos the service light was annoying me and on the reminder for the next service it says it wants doing at 11500 miles I think they are taking the !Removed! a bit

My 2013 1.0 fiesta service due March, was quoted £141 at arnold clarke where i purchased it, a ford dealer closer to home quote £114, arnold clarke have now agreed to match the price... lesson learned dont take quote without shopping around

Do the services have to be done at authorised ford places to keep up the warranty on a new car?

Do the services have to be done at authorised ford places to keep up the warranty on a new car?

No as long as the garage is vat registered and you use official ford parts and oils then you still maintain your warranty

Ah OK that's good thank you

My first service is £152, due to be done on the 10th march. Got a loan car for the day not sure if that makes any difference. What got me was if i have it done by a Ford main dealer i get another years breakdown cover free, bargan!, 1.5 Econetic diesel.

I just bought a service plan from my dealer, £13 a month for 3 years gets me 3 services, courtesy car, valet and another 3 years breakdown cover, and no inflation. Seems like a reasonable deal and no big expense in January for the next 3 years. Must just make sure I keep this car longer than the last one.
