Help Needed Got Damp Carpet In My 2006 Focus

Featured Replies

Hi all i went into my car yestoday and had a damp wet smell so i check around the car and relised my carpet under the drivers seat is damp does anyone no where the water is coming from im not sure if my rubber seals on the door needs replacing or not and if it does where to get it from trying to keep away from main dealer, hope somone has some advice on why the carpet is damp and no i did not pee in the car lol.

Hi if you pull back the capet by your pedals and remove the centre consol trim you shall be able to see where the pipes come through from the engine to your heater matrix these have a join about three inches or so once they come through the bulk head and have been known to leak in the past check your coolant level if it is low then I susspect this may be your problem if not then it will be a case of pulling out the seat and carpets and having a look whilst someone sprays the outside of the car good luck and dont shy away from dealers we do know what we are doing ;-) let me know how it goes.
