Eac Fail + Battery Not Charging

Featured Replies

I'm new here and this is my first post, so please forgive and redirect me if this is in the wrong place.

Basically, I recently bought a 2003 Ford Fiesta LX, 1.4 litre engine.

Every now and then at the start of my journey I am faced with an 'EAC Fail', which I am already aware is a problem with the 'Electonic Accelerator', however, I also noticed that the battery that came with it was 'black', so knackered.

I replaced the battery, green light was visible, and now a week later the battery is back to black (which I only noticed after popping the hood after another EAC fail). I should also mention that I haven't had any battery warning lights appear on my dash.

I've had around one of these 'EAC Failures' every week since buying the car 3 weeks ago...

I was wondering if these two problems could be connected?

I should say so if your alternator is knackered then it won't be charging your battery properly hence the Indicator on the battery going black. I would take it to your local garage and get them to check it out for you

Thanks, will do.

I only really posted because of all the horror stories I've heard about EAC Failures, fingers crossed it's just the alternator and not the EAC system :)

Hello? Did you find a solution to this problem?
