Engine Cutting Out

Featured Replies

Hi ive got a ford cougar 2.5 v6 when i pull at traffic lights and the like it revs up and down then cuts out it starts up fine and runs spot on the engine is a 2.5 duratec 24v V6 has anyone come across this before cus its p ing me off any help would be appreciated cheers rob

Used to own one of these, good engine but had some issues.

Does it do this at any other time when you try pulling away or do you have to be sat still for a certain amount of time?

The reving up and down, is that from you pressing the accelerator and it reving up and then down by itself?

If so, it sounds like it could be fuel starvation of some type.

it cuts out just as you pull up and it revs itself up and down
