Sudden Loss Of Power On 1.8 Tdci Engine

Featured Replies

Hi

Can anyone help?

I have an 03 plate 1.8 Tdci mondeo which has served me well and the poor girl is a little sick. Twice now and with no warning lights the engine just stopped, the first time on a motorway when doing 70, and yesterday when accelerating away from a roundabout.

On both occasions. I stopped and turned off the ignition and restarted and everything is fine. Please note that this is not a turbo issue where the car only revs to say 2000 rpm but a total power failure. When doing 70 this is no joke as you loose power steering and servo brakes!!!

Can anyone help?

Cheers

Dave

any fault codes??

this is usually down to a cam or crank sensor starting to break down.
