Auxilliary drive belt for 1996 Galaxy 2.3

Featured Replies

1996 Galaxy 2.3

My auxilliary drive belt shredded whilst I was driving but got home ok and have now got a replacement belt that I need to fit. I have the car secured on axle stands and have removed the plastic shield from beneath the engine and can see the various wheels the belt needs to go around.

Can anyone post me a diagram of the correct belt layout and indicate which wheel is the tensioner and how to de-tension it to fit the belt? None of the wheels seems to have any lateral movement so there is the possibility the tensioner may be stuck or maybe I'm just not pushing the right bit in he right diection!

Any help much appreciated. Thanks. :)
