Dear Nicholas 😉

Your car has a 'Door Ajar' (something is not fully closed), this can be caused by any door, the tailgate, or bonnet (hood) being slightly open.

If all your doors, tailgate and bonnet are fully closed and the light is still on then one of the little micro switch inside the locking system has broken.

If you think the problem is with the tailgate then you need to remove the inside trim panel to gain access to the locking mechanism.  There is a small black plastic block attached to the lock which is the switch.

Hi all

I had the exact same issue on 2010 Focus, odometer lights were permanently on.

In my case the problem was radio. After removing (later replacing) it, the odometer lights went off after 10-15 mins.
