Engine / Cam Belt

Featured Replies

im getting ready to change my cam belt on my 04 plate 1.2 fez which is gonna cost around £180 . i have 76.000 miles on the clock but ive come across a 2.0l st engine only done 37.000 miles for £250 would this engine fit into my car whithout any dramas ?

simple answer is no.

you will need EVERYTHING for the ST engine. you will need the ST gearbox, ST engine wiring harness, ST ECU, ST instrument cluster, the keys for the car the engine came out of, ST drive shafts, ST engine mounts (your 1.4 mounts could be diffrent or not up to the job for all the power). PLUS you have to inform the DVLA and that will affect your insurance premium.

best just spend the £180 and get the cam belt done

A 2.0 for £250? What's it come with? Because at that price it would seem to be nothing at all...

You'd need as a short-list; engine, gearbox, loom, ecu, injectors, ancillaries, mounts, exhaust, speedo, brakes... The list goes on, it's cheaper to just get your cam belt done :P

Plus, insurance, road worthyness, etc.
