Magenta
I had an almost identical problem on my '09 and '59 plate Fiestas. The battery would go completely flat overnight (in my garage) and had to call the AA or trickle charge it as I now have no jump start facility. Also I can't push start it with it being an auto. Happened several times while under warranty and was never explained. Each time, the AA said it was a duff battery. The dealer eventually changed the alternator (?) and then finally the battery which so far seems to have cured it. I have a battery voltage monitor plugged into the power socket to keep my eye on it. Ford User
My dad has a 58 2009 Fiesta Zetec 1.25. After 4 years without any problems last week he found that the battery had gone completely flat overnight in the garage. He removed the battery, fully recharged it and then reconnected it. He left it in his garage without using it and found that it had drained totally within 24 hours. He then replaced it with a different fully charged battery which was known to be working perfectly. Again he left it unused in his garage and found that within 24 hours this battery had also run flat. This proved that the fault was not with the battery or the alternator but was caused by some electrical drain. Unlike some other posters there are no obvious signs of anything such as the radio or fan staying on after the key is removed. Are there any known electrical faults on these models and if they are caused by design fault or manufacturer defect rather than wear and tear should they be repaired free of charge by Ford ?
