Stoney871
And you thought some of your car repairs were dodgy- http://uk.news.yahoo.com/diy-car-fixes--ten-strangest-fixes-drivers-use-to-avoid-garages-112931303.html#c7rfuEf
b1g_dav3
I've used torches on a Land Rover lmao, duct tape is always a standard in DIY mechanics though.
FOCA
No way! a matress for a bonnet! The i-phone is probably more accurate than the speedo - itl keep the mileage down too We taped down a leaking sunroof with duct tape (neatly) for a customer once Some of us have bought cars that had holes in sills filled with newspaper and cornflakes packets then covered in underseal to "fake it up" a neighbor bought a people carrier where the whole underside was wrotten and "faked up" with tin cans/ covered in hammerite - the alarming thing was it had passed its MOT! If you thought Ford dealer prices are bad - you should try Porsche! instead of spending a fortune fixing my bonnet catch, i found an ingenious way to hold my bonnet down -
hubby1959
I've done exhaust repairs using bean tins, exhaust bandages and jubilee clips before today, it even got through an MOT at the time. Electrics are great to bodge, lost the offside side and tail lights once, so bodged it from the nearside with a bigger fuse as a temporary measure until I had time to do the job properly at the weekend. P.S. FOCA, love your bonnet badge
