Bad Traffic Day For Kent

Featured Replies

Wow, we are not having much luck down here!

So it started off with our Sheppey Bridge (you probably saw it on the news)

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/new-sheppey-crossing-crash-recap-2252664

100 cars, 200 injuries, 60 classed as minor, and 8 classed as somewhat serious!

Then we had a van lose a fight with a lorry!

And finally we have had a "serious accident" (we all know what that means!) when a motorcyclist lost a fight on the M20

Good luck, if like me you have to fight some of these roads on the way home, and if your heading to the country borders, good luck to you, plan more than enough time, and drive safely!

That accident on the sheppey bridge is mental. Let it be a warning to all members of Ford Owners Club to slow down in foggy conditions, use your headlights and foglights. If it wasnt for the driver of a lorry that had enough sense to park his lorry across the entrance to the bridge to stop any more cars going across after he crossed the bridge on the other side and seen the mayhem it could've been an awful lot worse

Inexperience drivers are slow to adaptor their driving to weather change conditions. The moisture from the fog on the road surface can lift the oil and grease up making it slippery even though it appears dry... simple things like that.

I've worked on the isle of sheppey in the past and that bridge is one of the most beautiful views i have ever seen. sure there are lots of people views in the world but this bridge is one that i have personally seen with my own eyes, wonderful island, the air smells fresh and clean!

Pleased to here no one has died even though some people gave suffered serious injuries. Rather sad tbh

All too common for major accidents to occur with slight weather changes in the UK these days...

was waching this on the news dinner time and coudent belive it.

but as you say at least one body died whitch looking at the wrecks of vehicles people where very lucky.

Definitely,

Well the misfortune continued yesterday, a serious accident of a lorry versus motorbike on the A2, and also on the M2 (where everyone was avoiding the M20) there was another crash up there!

Thankfully there were only casualties in all of these, and minimum fatalities, but I look forward to seeing the results of the police investigations.

I just want to echo, and re-echo to everyone. Be safe out there. Use lights whenever visibility is not perfect, use fog lights where visibility is reduced, and if you cant see the road ahead of the car in front of you, back away from the car in front and leave a 5 - 10 second gap minimum and keep your speed slow. Also leave your window open and the stereo turned down.

Better everyone trundles along on the inside lane at 20mph on a dual carriageway than an event like this occurs again.
