Have a look at this guys, makes an interesting read! A bit of a crazy idea these days what with the safety/legality of it all but a fascinating read none the less.

Basically this guy has just driven from New York to Los Angeles in 28 hours 50 minutes when Google thinks it should take 40 hours!! :o
