Dreaded Rust

Featured Replies

Fiesta, 51 plate

The standard Rear left arch rust. Any cheap methods of stopping it?

Treat it with something like Fertan (brilliant stuff) then respray the area. Not really any shortcuts.

I had the same problem with my mk3, old fiestas are well known for the rear arches to go.

Cheers mate,

Will look Fertan up and give it a go.

It's not cheap but it does the job - cheaper than getting it done professionally About £8 a bottle I got it for.

Just needs to be brushed on, left for 24 hours then the excess wiped off. Then you can paint.

You'll never stop rust can slow it down but what ever you put on the rust it will come back tbh mate
