Attempted Boot Break-Ins

Featured Replies

All,

In the past 6 months my 1.8 Focus Titanium 08 plate, has had it's boot damaged on 2 separate occasions in different locations. Each time, it looks like the thief has tried to remove the chrome metal trim and badge in order to access the boot mechanism.

Is this a known venerability of the Focus?

Thanks, Nick

With the central locking system on the MK2 no it isn't.

There's nothing accessible under the trim that would allow the boot to be opened unless the deadlock/central locking was deactivated.

More than likely they're after the trim itself.

ditto, this happened to us not long after we got the car, was gutted. ford wanted 150 if i remember correctly for a new chrome trim.... lenny found me a link to one that was abroad and i purchased that......

Thanks guys - good to know. It's just irritating

They're like magpies.

Anything shiny and they must have it.

...except the magpies are probably more intelligent...
