Heated Front Windscreen Replaced - Starting Issue This Morning!

Featured Replies

Titanium Mk2.5 (1.8 petrol)

Maybe I am worring about nothing!

Had a new heated front windscreen fitted yesterday as the old one had cracked in the MOT failure area.

guy came out to fit it, I explained to him it was heated version and each corner of windscreen had an electrical connector.

He said he had connected it all back up okay, I even checked the wiper sensor & headlight sensor top of windscreen worked and all fine!

Didnt use car after he had replaced screen but went out to start up this morning and really struggled to start! had to give it quite a lot of gas! It has been cold & wet overnight but not frosty!

not had any starting issues with this car! y'day I started it up before he had fitted the new screen; and this after it had been frosty, and it started 1st time!

So not sure if it was related to new screen?

probably not? I know the heated screen has a large power consumption!

maybe had all doors open and it run the battery down
