2.0 Tdci Air Filter

Featured Replies

I've had my Focus 2.0 TDCI for about a month. Last weekend along with a few other bits I got a Haynes manual for it, and have been having a look through it. One thing that is confusing me though is that my air filter looks to be of the type in a 1.6, not the 1.8 and 2.0 versions. Instead of the 1.6 where the outlet goes straight across to the turbo though, mine goes through a 90deg bend and heads back, as would be expected on a 2.0 with the turbo behind the engine.

Adding to the confusion, if I look online for filters for a 2.0 TDCI I get both the flat and round ones.

Not sure about the routing of pipes etc, and my bonnet lock is currently out of action so I can't pop it to check, but as for the round and flat filters...

As far as I'm aware, the earlier Mk2 pre-facelift models, like my 55 plate, have flat filters, but the facelift Mk2.5 models like yours have the round ones.
