Power Pulling On Motorway

Featured Replies

When driving on the motorway especially if I need to put the boot down to overtake the car feels like the brakes go on then acelerate again does anyone know what could be causing the problem

Mondeo mk4 2009 titanium x

All help would be appreciated thanks

Sounds like it could be something related to the turbo, it doesnt sound like its spooling quick enough (too much fuel not enough air, so it stumbles).

Have you noticed additional smoke? whats the service history like?

  • Author

I don't tend to see smoke coming from the car it service history is very good has had a new dmf and clutch but still same as before only has about 32.000 on clock

OK, so in that case if you have no smoke then its probably just the coked up EGR or possibly something else such as a sensor.

has had a new dmf and clutch but still same as before only has about 32.000

New DMF and clutch before 32,000 miles?!!

A lot of mk4 dmf original are failing around 30.000

Wouldnt surprise me if they put another poorly rated transmission systems for the slightly more torquey engines...

"Wow, I really must go out and buy a Mk4 Mondeo, then!" said nobody, ever.

It was the only clutch I have ever had to change on all my car due to the naff dmf

is it traction control kicking in to stop torque steer

What is the best way to cure this do you know
